We are JP and Charlotte. Sailors, surfers and adventurers who came together with a combined dream to sail the world. Both captivated by the sea from a young age it was a natural progression from enjoying it to working on it to now living on it.

 

JP grew up in Guernsey in the Channel Islands and is a keen waterman. After being land-based for Red Bull for several years decided to explore the world, looking for empty line ups and perfect waves. Alongside this he worked professionally on yachts in order to be nearer the ocean full-time. Although Charlotte had a similar thirst for adventure she spent her early 20’s running some of the UK’s biggest festivals but she too, eventually found herself working on yachts in order to sail professionally full time. Since then we have gained tens of thousands of nautical miles, sailed across the world, raced in some of the most famous regattas and both qualified as captains.

 

Initially, we thought having our own boat was just a pipe dream however, we then realised, with a lot of hard work, the right level of determination and a little bit of luck we might actually be able to make this work. After scouring the internet for a boat one fell into our lap in Newport RI and this beautiful Fast 500 became ours. We named her Jacqeau after a word we made up in a game of scrabble and the journey to make her ocean ready began.

 

It took blood, sweat, tears and a lot of late nights to get her ready to go back in the water. Doing everything ourselves, every inch of the boat got turned upside down and inside out and all the systems got replaced and renewed. Anything that could go wrong went wrong but we came out of it having learnt so much.

 

Now the boat is in the water where she belongs and sailing like a dream. Join us on our adventure round the world.
